Multi-taskers have begun to question the benefit and need of squeezing it all in. Racing through life with cell phones, fax machines and crammed calendars can derail relationships and sideline your significant other as well as your children. The need to be intentional and finding your inner calm is essential to assure good decisions whether they are home or business related. I believe that employees who learn parent education skills work better and parent better. Health care costs are impacted when employees believe they are effective both in the home and at work. In addition, job satisfaction diminishes the costs related to hiring and training new staff. Satisfied trained staff stay.
The following seminars as well as others, have been well received.
Balancing Work and Family: A Need for Simplicity
Your life is a journey filled with choices both personal and professional. Many seem to be struggling with the challenge of not only getting their lives together...but the difficulty of picking it up once it is organized. Many are over-faxed, over e-mailed, and suffering from stuffed calendars and closets. The day-to-day task of maintaining relationships requires energy that cannot be directed towards career tracking, tennis matches or exercise classes. Childcare and self-care are often in conflict. What strategies and considerations would help simplify our everyday? What choices will help separate stuff from substance? How might we better make decisions that will both help simplify and celebrate our here and now?
Personal and Professional Boundaries: A Staff Necessity
Healthy boundaries are essential if our work is to be successful. A clear sense of boundaries promotes positive relationships both at the work site as well as the living room. Limit setting, open communication, and problem solving are necessary if all staff are to relate well with all stakeholders in and ethical and caring manner.
Things to Do List
Self-reflection, self-acceptance, and self-direction are often ignored during our busy "things to do list" controlled lives. Long-term dreams may become dusty because of our over involvement with short-term survival tactics. This workshop based on an adult development framework and will give participants some tools to help consider their own life choices, Group discussion, time for personal evaluation, and a list of things to try will give participants and opportunity to celebrate themselves and ideas to better connect with those that matter on their life journey.
Prudent Staff Development to Assure Program Success
There is a preferred sequence to staff development. Too often program administrators focus on building staff relationships when clarity of goals, roles and procedures would establish an effective structure to assure the needs of all stakeholders would be met. Dr. Ada Alden will share a helpful model to assist administrators managing programs. This workshop will include interaction between participants so that practical application suggestions will be shared for future implementation.
